We Were Playing Spades....

From what I've heard, most people like to start their blogs talking about how the group did during the day of work. Me being the different one I'm going to start with how the group is doing during our group time. I think it's amazing how our group is so open to sharing about themselves. We are constantly growing closer as a group which I think is helping other open up and share what they wouldn't usually say. God is really speaking to us and it's happening all at the right time. Like yesterday during our prayer walks, every student led a different house, gave their testimony and prayed for the family. It seemed that for every house the someone gave a testimony to, it was meant for it to be "their" house. Interesting for me personally, I had two houses. The first house I did I wasn't really feeling it but I did it anyways. After I was finished, I felt incomplete. I wasn't even expecting to get the second chance but the opportunity came I felt that God prepared me for that one specifically. It worked out tremendously! I love how God is working in not only my heart, but it seems every single individual on this team.

Today at the dump, we built stoves for our houses. We built them with cinder blocks and pieces that were made for it. The people were very grateful and made sure to thank us and we all prayed together to conclude. After eating we went to our original houses we have been working  on and began painting. In house one I know that we got the first coat done but there is so much more work to do by tomorrow. Mr. B is telling me to wrap up so he can attach some photos so I will sum it up. Most of the sickness is dying down and all of our spirits are high and are excited to work our butts of tomorrow finishing up the houses!

  1. Andrew, I'm glad you were different. It was a great new perspective on what the Lord is doing in all of your lives. I'm also very glad to hear that the sickness is dying down. We'll do some heavy-duty praying for that and those houses today.

  2. Thanks for sharing YOUR thoughts, Andrew. You're surrendering and becoming the vessel God intends you to be. Continue to share Him boldly . . . and will pray so for the rest of the team. You have our never-ending support from thousands of miles away!
    Blessings . . .

  3. Thankful for you and the G-Team, Andrew. You thought all the weight lifting was just for football - it was for putting stoves in people's homes in Guatemala (and football). God is using you and the team in great ways. Keep serving Him. You're all having a big impact there - and here. We'll keep praying.

  5. It has always amazed me Andrew how big God is...that he created the heavens and the earth and all that is in it, yet he is intimately involved in each one of his children's lives. That he cares about me and my small universe, while he is providing and caring for each one who call him Lord all around the globe, is just beyond my understanding. His plans are perfect, and I am so grateful that you all are there to share His amazing love and to give witness to His life changing power...WOW!
I am praying today for your team's strength and perserverance in the work set before you, and for the rest that will soon come.
Love and blessings to each of you,
    hugs to Phil!
